The Music Of The Land

Last night was lovely here at Under The Crow. Days of rain has filled the waterfall and the stream. There is an endless melodic flow to the land here. The music changes with the seasons, but it truly never stops playing.

The music is not made possible because of our little house here. Because as much as I love it and despise it some days, it is no more important than the bees or even a single bee that pollinates our garden. Yes, one single bee is made more miraculously than this house that has withstood the test of time. Yes, one single bee contributes more to the earth than this house with all its history and bricks and papers stuffed in a box. Yes, one single bee has inspired me today to remember that our goal here is to make this land better for the betterment of this earth and to be used to educate the world. One little bee has reminded me that if I see it, I can see the bigger picture. And it’s bigger than a renovation.

Our goal here is to make this house livable and comfortable as simply as we can so that our efforts can be put into the mission of animal rescue and making a difference, one blog and one step at a time.

If you’re here for extravagant renovation or decorating ideas, you’ve landed on the wrong piece of ground. Instead, on our channels you will see us using materials we have here first, whether that is to make a painting or a bookshelf. We use the materials left here for generations to sustain us now while buying as little as possible. This isn’t quick with two people and one dog (so far). But the bee tells us we can. And we will.

I have to remember the “why” of all the sacrifice and work or I can’t keep physically going. I have to remember the “why” to keep spiritually healthy and happy. And I have to remember the “why” on the days I think I can’t. We were meant to be here for a reason in all the seasons. Not just the easy ones. It’s time to listen to the music within and the music of the land.
