The girl in the orange grove was now back in the orange grove with her own trailer. Just like old times.

It was even a double wide, and its emerald green shutters and green carpet made her happy. She even had a bathtub. Having her own little house felt like heaven. But best of all, she had the approval of all of her family.

She was the eldest grandchild, and as such, she figured that it was her responsibility to take care of all. No one told her to do this. But she knew that she should. Pappy was getting up in years and so, she spent every day after work and the weekends mowing the orange grove in the hot sun.
As the years went by, the girl in the orange grove also decided she should get a better job. She didn’t like how she saw her and Nathan’s family struggling. And so she got a job at a bank as a receptionist. This seemed like a real job to her.

She had not went to college as it was looked down upon at that time in the religion they practiced. But she loved her job. Although she was very tired. One day, as she started to make dinner, and Nathan was in the shower, she decided to fry some potatoes. As she always did, she got distracted, and when she turned around, the whole kitchen was on fire.
