Time Split Into Chapters

This is a continuation of The Girl In The Orange Grove series on how I ended up in Italy at an abandoned house. My past, my story, is all part of this adventure.

I feel like time is split into chapters, where there is a clear distinction on the things that shape each of us. After my dogs died and Pappy was in the nursing home, that orange grove no longer felt like home. There was a clear beginning of that chapter in my heart and when it ended. But I was still there.

My dad told me once that home isn’t a place, it’s the ones who are there. So what do you do when the memories of the ones that were there make you want to leave? Make you want to run away and escape the endless reminders it will never be the same?

I now had a job of making sure everyone was ok in the family. That had been Pappy’s job, and now I took it on. I mowed acres and acres of orange grove, I made sure everyone in the family knew I would take care of them, yet it wasn’t enough. I missed my dogs especially, and I didn’t see myself being able to call anywhere else home. I felt so comfortable yet so out of place.

When Nate went to that shelter and brought home the saddest dog there…Ernie, who we later named Peanut Butter Brickle, I had no idea how much a dog could change my life.

No, I’m not being over dramatic. A dog, that dog, changed my life, my world, and me. Later, when we adopted Levi who we later named Digby Pancake, I found out dogs could be real challenges and windows into the depths of our souls. They clearly had a plan in life, and I was about to be along for the ride. Literally.

This is an important message from Rachael. This is a very important message from my heart. Since it is from my heart, I am confident that negative comments will not be left and that I will only receive positive responses! That’s how truly important and life changing this moment is. And what I feel we have worked for 14 years.

I would love to show as we apply for our visas at the end of this month that we have the monthly support we need to get this project done and continuing from the ground up.

That we have dedicated supporters that pledge $5 a month at minimum on our two Patreon pages to keep this sustainable. The magic number for each page would be 1000 supporters. These pledges aren’t just donations. You get content and perks in return from us! Like a streaming cable channel or network. We don’t want handouts. We want to give you value! If you can join each Patreon page, that would be greatly appreciated! Links are here:

As well, if you also want to show your support with a note to this cause and your belief in us to show the authorities, you can do so here.

This will be put in a presentation made public to our audience as well.

In addition, this appointment will cause us to have to travel to anyone city and leaving Fruitycake is not an option for us. He needs to be in a safe place close to us and you can help with travel for that time here, including accommodations and incidentals.

More information to come and we thank you for your support!!!
