The girl in the orange grove wasn’t in the orange grove any more. Now she had no boyfriend and no messages on her answering machine.

She knew what she could spend every day. She could make it on thirty dollars a week for gas in the Buick. It sure did eat gas! And she had $2.00 every day for two soft tacos. Sometimes, she would splurge on a tv dinner for lunch in the chiropractor’s office she worked in. Always lasagna or spaghetti and meatballs. Sometimes, her mom would invite her home for lunch. She would have exactly 20 minutes to eat it with the drive from work. She hoped that one day the awkwardness of her decision to leave would be gone.

There was no dream of Italy in her heart then. Only a dream of how to figure out how to be happy while making everyone else happy. She didn’t realize until moving to Italy that sometimes, well, that just wasn’t possible.

But the girl not in the orange grove any more had a lot to figure out. She missed her mom’s spaghetti, but her mom said she couldn’t make it again until she came home. And so she decided that’s what she would do. But she needed help to move back. And she remembered that boy who had loved her and the boy that she had broken his heart. His name was Nathan and she decided to give him a call.

We have so generously been asked by our friends and the 2 Traveling Dogs family for specifically what we currently need. Our current hope and wish is for solar panels and a solar generator in order to alleviate getting fuel up the path for our current generator. We thank you for your support and love and concern. You can help here and specify in notes what your support is for!
